"With a stunning use of angles, lighting and facial expressions, The Last Days Of Pompeii by *artofneff evokes a strong sense of danger and action in a masterful comic strip, which relates to the well-known phenomena of the eruption of Mt Vesuvius. Couple this with the flawless anatomy and the well-paced plotline, the effort and skill that has gone into this art is obvious to all." - =GoredGuar (Suggested by =GoredGuar and Featured by `misskittyoooo)

Absolutely stunning. I would critique, except there is nothing to critique. Perhaps add a little more contrast like you did in some of the panels (more dark areas) to make things stand out more?

very epic

Thanks. I've begun doing character designs for another book by the same company. It's about victims of information theft and the court system. As you can imagine, there will be lots of action sequences with explosions and such.

I look forward to it!

My favorite panel is the one where they're looking at each other after the earthquake. It's just one of those delicious moments that makes the situation real.

(I don't know about the one where she's catching ash in her hand though. It looks a little casual somehow, like "oh look, the mountain's exploding". Maybe just the viewpoint, or maybe the woman's pose.)

The clean detail in the explosion is absolutely gorgeous! And I love the huge view of it covering the sky at the end, as well as how those last panels are arranged.

Fantastic details. Amazing display of emotion. I caught this on the DD and I am impressed. I could -hear- a story as I looked at it.

The panel of the full town in scramble, and the one child in the middle that looks like s/he is crying just absolutely broke my heart. =(

I'm afraid of sounding too... generic in the praise. =/ But you really deserve it.

Wow... I think you captured this perfectly! It brought some tears to my eyes... so sad~!

Magnificent. A stunning example of what marvels the pencil can create. Very well done!

It reminds me a lot of the educational comics our school had about roman times. I love it. It actually almost made me cry :blushes:
